A great book to get started with HTML and CSS.

I was the technical editor for this book. So all the errors you find that are technical in nature are my fault. 🙂 Of course, if you do find errors, there isn’t much I can do about them now.

Seriously, I read this book cover to cover and it’s got a lot of information well packaged in a way that you will be familiar with if you’ve read my HTML5 book.

Julie Meloni has an easy style of writing and makes it fun to learn about HTML and CSS. You should pick up a copy for your friends who want to get into web design

  1. how do i go about building mobile apps?
what do i need to get started?
where can i find or get the possible requirements.

    Thank you.

    1. Hi @Tessie: your questions don’t really have a simple answer, at least not one I can condense into a blog comment. 🙂 But here’s my attempt. Perhaps others might have other answers:

building mobile apps – well, first of all, I cover that in the book in great detail. So buying a copy or checking it out of your local library is a good step. But my book only covers creating web applications. You can also learn Objective C and build native iOS apps or Java and build native Android apps. Both of which will probably take a while.

what do you need to get started? the minimum you need is a computer and the will to try things out. I have a lot of information on my About.com website that can help you learn how to build mobile web applications. And there are tons of other resources online as well.

Beyond that, learning to program as I mentioned above is a good start or you can work on creating dynamic web applications with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

      I hope that helps,
      Jennifer
